Resume #(lost count)

Yes, a resume can provide much real-world information into who I am, especially when throughout my career I have usually spent my time working at jobs that focused on things I love to do - combining my love of helping people with my love of numbers and spreadsheets and problem solving. I have many resumes as I modify them for each job I apply for and in recent years I have applied for many jobs. This particular resume focuses on management, even more specifically Program Management. Copying it from the word document, it loses it's pretty formatting here in this box, but the information remains. Feel free to pass along the link or to share any job leads at the address listed. Thank you - and thanks for wanting to know me (that is what this blog is about, after all) :)

Messages to Potential Roommates

The following are messages I sent to prospective roommates on a roommate site. While these messages are mostly repetitive and may offer less insight or information about me than some of the personal profiles or other messages do, this does sort of fit the theme of this blog so here they are, for history, for posterity, for the library if ever my writings become one beyond these blogs. Ah, such lofty dreams for my feeble words. But we must nurture our dreams, not matter what they are. These days I am dreaming of finding a job (I suppose posting my resume here would be fitting) and a place to live that I can afford. A roommate would help. A really wealthy and generous roommate who wishes to become a patron of my arts (whatever they are) would be ideal. What was that about dreams? lol lam. Oh, well, let's be serious for a moment and see how I introduced myself to strangers with the hope of finding one who might want to live with my unique madness. :)

Hi Tony :)

I believe in honesty. I am male, so if that is a complete deal-breaker I understand. I write to you in case you've found no one to rent your room and might consider a nice reliable active older guy after meeting and seeing who I am. Never know where a new friend might be found. :)

I am quiet, rarely have people over, and respectful of boundaries. I write a lot, watch some TV, love music, and keep the volume low or use headphones. I prefer to be friendly and social however can respect roommates if they'd rather not share a whole lot beyond polite space.

I am very flexible and easy to get along with. I play softball Monday and Friday evenings as well as most of the day Sundays so I am not around those times. I play cards Tuesday, Thursday, and often on Saturdays so I am out those evenings as well most weeks.

I enjoy giving time and energy to helping others both professionally and personally. My career has been in health care administration. I am clean and if cleaning up behind you will lower the rent, I'm all for it.

At the moment I am job hunting and while I have savings, I am paying off a car and want to keep rent down as low as possible. I am very reliable and can front you a few months in advance. I can provide personal references from a prior roommate (or other friends) who shared space for many years. We no longer live together because she fell in love and moved in to start a new life. She is a therapist and professional working at Stetson. Maybe you can tell I am proud of her life :)

As I said, I believe in honesty. I believe hiding or pretending is a waste of time. Doing no harm in this life is my fundamental philosophy and I strive to achieve in in all I do. If you are still reading, ask me anything.

I hope you find the right roommate if I am not that person. I welcome a text or call if you like what you read and want to get to know me.

Thank you and make today/tonight a good one. :)

Hi Jeremy and Jesse :)

I believe in honesty and I am definitely trustworthy, clean and outgoing. I am a lot older so that may rule me out, but I write to you in case 12/1/2016 comes up and you've found no one to rent your room - or perhaps you want to lock in the right person as soon as possible and we fit in spite of my age. If age is a deal-breaker, just say so and I wish you well.

I play cards Tuesday, Thursday, and often on Saturdays so I am out those evenings as well most weeks.

Sundays I play and help organize the LGBT league at Seminole Softball Complex and this weekend, unless cancelled by the hurricane, I will be organizing 49 Angels for the Pride parade. I enjoy giving time and energy to helping others both professionally and personally. My career has been in health care administration.

Hi Groovenectar (like the name) :)

I too am looking for a place. I'll need it Nov 1. I believe in honesty. I play cards with friends so I may be evenings as well most weeks. I enjoy TV and relaxing as well.

Sundays I play and help organize a league at Seminole Softball Complex and this weekend, unless cancelled by the hurricane, I will be organizing 49 Angels for the Pride parade as I have been involved in providing support for those affected by the tragic shooting. I enjoy giving time and energy to helping others both professionally and personally. My career has been in health care administration.

At the moment I am job hunting and while I have savings, I am paying off a car and want to keep rent down as low as possible. I am very reliable and can front you a few months in advance. Hi :)

I too am looking for a place. I am curious to know if you found anything in the $200-$300 range as that would be what I need at the moment too. I'd be willing to share a room with a compatible person.

Please let me know and good luck with your search. I'll let you know if I find anything in that range as well.

Thanks and hope your day. night is smiling :)

Hi :)

I am 60, male, and also am looking for a place with as low rent as possible. I am looking in areas north of Orlando like Altamonte, Longwood, Apopka, Lake Mary, etc. I am curious to know if you found anything in the $200-$300 range as that would be what I need at the moment too.

As this point I'd be willing to share a room with a compatible person and see how that works out. I am quiet, out a lot, and easy to get along with.

Please let me know and good luck with your search. I'll let you know if I find anything in that range as well.

Thanks and hope your day. night is smiling :)

Hi Meg :)

Wow, I love your positivity. Thanks for inspiring my smile. I am also am looking for a place with as low rent as possible. I am looking in areas north of Orlando like Altamonte, Longwood, Apopka, Lake Mary, etc. I'd consider other areas as well. I am curious to know if you found anything in the $400 or less range as that would be what I need at the moment too.

I've had a challenging year and at this point I'd be willing to share a room with a compatible person and see how that works out. I am quiet, out a lot, and easy to get along with.

I am older and looking too, so I am not what you are looking for but please let me know if you find anything and good luck with your search. Networking is supposed to work, right? :)

If you like, I'll let you know if I find anything in that range as well.

Thanks and hope your day. night is smiling :)

Hi :)

If the rent is $85 a month in exchange for chores, I am very interested. I can give you the $100 deposit and 3 months in advance if you like. I love animals, especially cats, and I care for friends animals while they are away. I would like to find out more about what you are seeking. Ask me anything you'd like to know, I believe in honesty.

My name is Ric. I am 60 and semi-retired but looking for a job as I enjoy working. My career has been in health care administration which is a 24/7/365 responsibility and after decades of that, I am seeking something less stressful with what we might call "normal" hours. :)

I am quiet, rarely have friends over, and respectful of boundaries. I write a lot, watch some TV, love music, and keep the volume low or use headphones. I can be a friend or I can be virtually invisible and relax in my room when I am home. :)

I am very flexible and easy to get along with. I play softball Monday and Friday evenings as well as most of the day Sundays so I am not around those times. I play cards at friends houses some nights. I am also involved in some community support activities around Orlando as my passion in life and work is to help people whenever I can.

Feel free to email, text, or call.

Meetmindful Profile

This is part of a profile I impulsively threw together at MeetMindful.com and I forgot to upload it here at the time so I do not recall the path(s) that lead me to that site. I am not sure what you will find if you click on my profile link without signing up, but I can view profiles for free. The cost of this site is not worth the potential I've seen in the profiles available to explore, but then, you probably know by now that I have an aversion to paying for meeting friends as most of those endeavors are futile and many are scams. Still, here is another view of me (and that is what this blog is about, right?) :)

In my own words...
I am not like anyone I've ever met, but then, who is? I have wandered from myself to try to meet people, but always seem to return alone. If you think someone can be too honest, continue on your journey. What makes me happiest is loving, caring, giving, helping, and sharing. It has left me rich inside and without much in this material world, but I love myself and continue the cycle. I've seldom lived alone because I enjoy living with a best friend or partner. I know we are all alone, yet I still seek the shared illusion of being one with another. The answers to the questions to the left are somewhat deceiving as multiple choices usually are (For example, I will try anything, but maintain a healthy balance). Ask for clarification and what you want to know. Google me. :)

In my free time you'll find me...
Playing softball, cards, games, and music. Writing, reading, and playing with numbers. I love to explore and I am open to exploring anywhere or anything that causes no harm.

I'm most passionate about...
Honesty, kindness, love, friends, helping. Babbling through written words, music, softball, dreaming of a better world and finding someone who might inspire me to fall in love again while still understanding influences from Harry Chapin, John Lennon, The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Melissa Etheridge, Monty Python, Robin Williams, and George Carlin.

Imperfections I'm embracing or changing...
There are no perfect people, only perfect intentions. I strive for perfect intentions and that keeps me secure and happy. A love of tastes (and taking a year off from the working world) has added thirty pounds in spite of playing ball four or five days a week and that's got to go. Meet me on an elliptical machine. The world has depressed my infinite hope and optimism lately and I wonder about the chances for humanity to survive it's prolonged infancy, but deep inside I know I shall survive anything and I doubt I am the only one. My occasional vow of poverty is less fun than it used to be, so I'll be looking for income again come the Fall. I may forget much of what I wrote in this profile tomorrow and would love to be reminded. I will not give up my irreverent self-mockery even if it is an imperfection. :)

Not for me...
(among Mindful "button" choices): Religious, Drug Use, Tobacco, Conservatives, Cat Haters, Hookups, Long-distance, Polyamory

Organized religion substitutes for personal accountability and may be a dangerous, harmful delusion. Most drugs, meh. Tobacco stinks. Conservatives don't conserve and fear change. Life is change. Cats are cool. I prefer in person, 1 on 1 relationships.

I'd also like to explore...
The potential of meeting someone who might share a similar perspective and understanding of being in this life excites me. Also, finding friends who love sharing the written word. Ric Held and Bugs Webbot are FB names you can find. Hope you reach out. :)

the power of facebook?

yeah, so i took to the facebook to see if it could swim, or something like that... what i did in simple terms was post a note, which appears to be the facebook equivalent of blogging, sort of, and this is what my note said:

Can Facebook have a meaningful affect on physical life? Can Facebook find me a job? Can Facebook find me a life partner? This could be a test, an experiment, a challenge - or it could be a meaningless exercise in writing to see my thoughts in words to pass some time.

I am looking for a job at the moment. I’d prefer to start early next year, but I am not fool enough to pass up the right opportunity if it appeared today. So I asked myself - if I post these words asking for your help in finding the right job for me, what will happen?

Will you help me find an income producing activity?

Or will I find a lot of emails and phone calls from companies offering commission sales jobs or companies simply trying to sell me something. I am not interested in either. Nor am I interested in spending money on furthering my education. I love learning, but if I had money to get another degree, I wouldn’t need a job at the moment.

So I wonder what can you do for me? What can posting this on Facebook do for me?

I will leave these words here and we shall see.

I do not have a partner in this life at the moment. Would telling you, here on Facebook, that I want a life partner help me find one? Is it that simple?

Let’s focus on finding income first. :)

we shall see if networking on facebook is as powerful as some claim...

roommates

So I kinda sorta had to come to terms with most likely having to search for a new roommate come the spring of next year because jackson is in love and it seems to be working out well and it is time for my little girl to leave the nest (hey, it's easier if i take the parent role emotionally especially since i have financially and physically all along)... so i went to roommate sites that have worked for me in the past and put these words out there...

This is what I give and want: Honesty is essential. Caring, understanding, an open mind and the ability to share comfortably is vital. Clean, reliable, respectful, considerate, sensitive, intelligent, financially stable, and fun is necessary. I detest the smell of tobacco. If the price is right and the place is clean and safe, we can be strangers passing in the night. Preferably, we can be friends. We don't have to be best friends or hang out all the time, but a potential best friend would be an ideal living situation. I am honest, sensitive, kind, and enjoy helping, caring, and sharing. I want my private time for writing and reading, but I enjoy sharing movies, TV, meals, activities, and chores (I don't love chores, but they are more fun when shared). I have friends who play cards/board games and you are welcome. We do not need to use our place unless you want to. I play softball a few nights a week and on weekends. I've been living with my best friend for 7+ years. I am looking to start sharing space around mid-April 2016 when my best friend moves in with her girlfriend. I have a place I could share in Altamonte but I am open to sharing another place. Let's talk and meet and see how well we get along.

all that but i leave out the most important information that anyone who really is interested will find here because the link to here will be in communications before we sign any lease and that all important information is... everything i've ever written in all of my writings online and off, but be it in reality nobody will every rad it all (at least not before the spring of next year... hear me laughing yet?), i'll summarize... i am impossible to live with unless you are a saint like jackson or a very few others...

even worse, i am so selective that i will probably continue looking even after the lease is signed so anyone signing with me should be prepared to be looking again as the lease ends and possible sharing a place with a couple if i find someone who can share a room and not just an apartment with me... i do make things challenging, don't i?... well, i am what i am... and you'll just have to ask if you don't understand... and as much as i give, i am worth the inquiry...

gotta protect myself, after all :)

match

So every now and then i feel the urge to believe i still might find the one who can and would really be with me for all time on the internet and i visit one of the singles sites and put up a few words and this is what i put on match dot com today, or recently, at least...

A nurturer with an honest open heart and a free and open mind is looking for a best friend to share life. We are intelligent and creative with active bodies, young spirits, and ancient wisdom. We are comfortable anywhere there is no harm. We are supportive, loyal, and committed to being there for each other. We are patient, flexible, and understanding that anything is possible. We seek a best friend and equal partner who accepts we each excel in some areas, but seek overall balance within and between us. We believe in the magic of unconditional love and trust and honesty and live in a rational bliss that is only enhanced when we are together. We are the dream that comes true when we share.

somehow i did not express doubt that i would find that person there, which may be a sign... or a laugh... or both :)
